Image Compressor — Export JPEG or WebP at a Chosen Quality
Compress a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image by exporting JPEG or WebP at a quality from 1 to 100 in your browser.

How to use it
Upload an image and adjust JPEG or WebP quality to balance size and detail.
Good to know
Compression is lossy and savings vary. The result can be larger than an already optimized source.
Try a smaller export and inspect the result
Choose an image, select JPEG or WebP, set a quality from 1 to 100, and process it. For a website photograph, begin around 80, then compare the preview and reported file size with the original. Lower values usually reduce file size but can introduce blur, blockiness, or artifacts around text and sharp edges.
The compressor keeps the image’s existing pixel dimensions. If a 4000-pixel-wide photo is still too large after a quality adjustment, resize it as well; quality and dimensions affect file size in different ways.
Pick the format for the job
JPEG is often suitable for photographs. WebP can be useful where the receiving site supports it. Both exports are lossy in this tool. A transparent source exported as JPEG is drawn over white, while WebP can retain transparency when the browser supports its canvas export. Check the downloaded result against the background where you will use it.
What a smaller number does not guarantee
An already optimized source can stay the same size or even grow after export. The tool reports the result’s bytes and whether it saved or added size, so use that result rather than assuming a quality setting will help. It accepts PNG, JPEG, and WebP files under 20 MB and 40 million pixels; output sides are limited to 16,384 pixels. Browser export may remove metadata, color profiles, and animation. Processing stays in your browser.
