Binary Translator — UTF-8 Text and 8-Bit Bytes
Encode text as UTF-8 binary bytes or decode complete 8-bit binary groups into valid UTF-8 text.

How to use it
Choose text to binary, or paste 8-bit groups separated by spaces to translate binary to English.
Good to know
Uses UTF-8, so emoji and accented letters become several bytes.
Convert readable text into bytes
Choose Text to Binary and enter text. The input Hi produces 01001000 01101001, one eight-bit byte for each ASCII character. Accented text and emoji use UTF-8, so one visible character can produce several byte groups.
Paste whole bytes when decoding
For Binary to Text, the input must contain only zeros and ones in complete groups of eight; spacing is optional. The decoder rejects incomplete groups and byte sequences that are not valid UTF-8. Binary is a representation of bytes, not a universal translation for every file format, and this tool is for text rather than images or executables.
Frequently asked questions
How do you write hello in binary?
"hello" in binary is 01101000 01100101 01101100 01101100 01101111, one 8-bit byte per letter.
How do I translate binary to English?
Paste the 0s and 1s in groups of eight, choose Binary to text, and run the tool. Spaces between bytes are optional.
Why does an emoji become several bytes?
UTF-8 stores characters outside basic ASCII in two to four bytes, so one emoji can produce 32 binary digits.
