How to use it
Open the black screen full screen. Click or press Esc to exit.
Good to know
Your device may still dim or lock the screen according to its power settings.
Use a dark viewing surface
Keep Black selected and choose Open full screen. Click the overlay or press Escape to return. You can also select a swatch or custom color before opening it if you need a different solid background.
To inspect for bright spots, view the black panel in a dim room and compare the same area after changing the display’s brightness. Do not make a finding from one lighting condition alone.
Limits of a black web page
A black page does not turn a display off. Its power effect and apparent black level depend on the panel, brightness, browser chrome, and power settings. The browser may show controls or refuse full screen, and the device may still sleep or dim according to its own settings.
