Mouse button tester

See left, middle, right, back, forward, and wheel input received by the browser.

How to use it

Press each mouse button while pointing at the drawing. Buttons light up while pressed and stay marked once they have worked.

Good to know

Some browsers still use the back and forward side buttons for navigation. Keep the pointer over the test area.

Exercise each available control

Keep the pointer over the mouse drawing and press and release the left, middle, and right buttons. Each matching part lights while pressed and keeps a tested mark with a count. If your mouse has back and forward buttons, test them there too. Move the wheel up and down to change the wheel status.

Reset before comparing a second mouse or another USB port. A button that never changes the drawing did not produce the matching mouse event on this page.

Browser and device limits

The test suppresses the context menu and auxiliary clicks inside the drawing, but the browser or operating system may reserve side buttons for navigation before the page receives them. Touch input and remapped buttons may report different events. This checks event delivery to a browser page; it cannot identify a physical switch, cable, driver, or firmware fault.

Frequently asked questions

How do I test my mouse buttons online?

Point at the mouse drawing and press each button. Working buttons turn orange and are marked as tested.

Can I test side buttons (mouse 4 and mouse 5)?

Yes. Back and forward side buttons are shown next to the drawing.

Why does my right click not show a menu?

The page blocks the context menu inside the test area so the right button can be tested.
