How to use it
Start a focus session. When it ends, take the suggested break. Every fourth break is a long one.
Good to know
Durations can be changed. A sound plays at the end of each session.
Set up a focus cycle
Enter the Focus, Short break, and Long break lengths, choose a mode, and press Start. Pause stores the remaining time; Reset returns the selected mode to its configured length. On a completed focus session, the tool increments the session count and selects a short break, except every fourth completed focus session, when it selects a long break. A completed break selects Focus.
Change a duration only when you are ready to reset the current mode, because changing any duration reselects that mode and restarts its displayed time.
Plan around browser limits
The page updates the document title and attempts an alarm at each transition, but background throttling, muted audio, closed tabs, and sleeping devices can delay that moment. Sessions are not stored after a reload. Treat the cycle as a focus aid and keep another reminder for appointments or deadlines.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Pomodoro technique?
Work for 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break, and after four sessions take a longer 15–30 minute break.
Can I change the session length?
Yes. Edit the focus, short break, and long break minutes.
Does it work in the background?
Keep the tab open. Remaining time appears in the title, but background suspension or device sleep can delay updates and alarms.
