What is my screen resolution?

Show browser-reported screen size, device pixel ratio, viewport, available area, depth, and orientation.

Loading the tool… JavaScript is required for processing on your device. The instructions and examples below are available without JavaScript.

How to use it

Open this page—your screen resolution, pixel ratio, and window size appear instantly and update when you resize.

Good to know

Browsers report CSS pixels. The physical-size figure is an estimate from CSS pixels and pixel ratio; browser zoom and scaling affect it.

Read the browser values

Open the tool and note Screen (CSS pixels), Browser viewport, and Device pixel ratio. Resize the browser window or change zoom to see the values update. Screen describes the browser-reported display area; viewport is the page area inside the current browser window.

The headline and “Estimated physical resolution” are calculated by multiplying reported screen width and height by device pixel ratio. This is useful for understanding how the current browser environment maps CSS pixels to device pixels.

Do not use it as a panel specification

Operating-system scaling, browser zoom, multiple displays, remote sessions, and privacy features can change these reported values. The multiplication is an estimate of the browser mapping, not an authoritative hardware specification. Check the operating system or display documentation for the panel’s native resolution.

Frequently asked questions

What is my screen resolution?

It is shown above. The page estimates physical resolution by multiplying CSS size by pixel ratio; check display settings for the actual configured mode.

What is the difference between resolution and viewport?

Resolution is the whole screen. The viewport is the part of the browser window a web page can use.

Why does my 4K screen show a smaller number?

Operating systems scale high-resolution screens. A 3840×2160 screen at 150% scaling reports 2560×1440 CSS pixels.
