How to use it

Paste text to list each word with its count and share. Optionally ignore common words like "the".

Good to know

Words are compared in lowercase. Numbers and apostrophes inside words are kept.

Spot repeated wording in a draft

Paste a paragraph and choose whether to keep common words. For The quick fox jumps. The lazy dog sleeps. The fox runs., the tool finds 11 words; the appears 3 times (27.3%) and fox appears 2 times (18.2%). That gives you a quick review list before you revise a headline, draft, or transcript.

Interpret the percentage carefully

Words are lowercased, punctuation is removed, and apostrophes inside a word are retained. The percentage uses all words in the source, even when the common-word filter hides entries, so it is not a search-engine metric or a measure of writing quality. The built-in stop-word list is English only; proper names, spelling variants, and language-specific word boundaries still need human review.
